Last weekend, (December 1-3 2023) the yearly renowned event, LA Comic Con returned to the heart of LA at the Los Angeles Convention Center for its twelfth year. As 2021’s Mortuus Est: Legacy panel at the con lingered in my mind, layers of nostalgia were added to my excitement as I was on a second panel again this year! This year also marked a reunion with two of my great friends who I hadn’t navigated the convention realms with in a few years. With guests, panels, and the amazing cosplays, we couldn’t wait to roam around and explore!

The con overall was a great  experience for me. I enjoyed taking the time to scour around the exhibit hall with my friends and explore what  was new or returning. It took us about two days to cover half of the convention but we were excited to have got it done and got so many steps in as we went down every single lane in that massive hall. No complaints from me though because I loved every moment of it – especially coming up that escalator and going through that entrance where you’re met with a view of so many booths set around the main walkway and a path leading towards the main stage where guests would appear.

While we dedicated those days for walking around and buying merch, The third and final day of the con was also the day of the panel I was on! Echoes of Gotham: A Live Podcast Experience was a fan-made panel where the audience had the power to drive the plot to the story of some of Gotham’s memorable characters being voiced by voice actors live in a choose-your-own-adventure experience. I had a lot of fun voicing Victor Zsazs and the Scarecrow, aka Jonathan Crane, who has always been a character I always wanted to delve into and experiment with as both an actor and nerd. I want to thank my friend for bringing everything together and putting on a great panel with an amazing and talented group of actors that brought these characters to life and giving the audience a chance to choose their story in a very immersive and fun experience filled with very enjoyable moments.

I had a fun time this year at LA comic con, and while I did not get to check some panels, I am still grateful I had the opportunity to enjoy the convention with my friends and be a part of an amazing panel once again. I felt a spark in me ever since then, and it gets me so fired up that I’m eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this returning passion of sharing my love for geek pop-culture! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!

L.A. Comic Con will be returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center next year, October 4-6, 2024.
